Signing order

The sequence recipients are asked to act in — all at once, one after another, or depending on what an earlier person filled in.

Signing order determines when each recipient is asked to act.

Parallel asks everyone at once. Right when the signatures are independent of each other.

Sequential asks each person only once the person before them has finished. Right when a later signature depends on an earlier one — internal approval before a document reaches a customer, or a counter-signature after the client signs. The property that matters is that a later recipient genuinely cannot act early, not merely that their email is sent later.

Conditional decides whether somebody is asked at all, based on a value an earlier recipient entered. A contract above a threshold needs finance to approve it; below it, finance is skipped.

Conditions should read a field completed earlier, be evaluated once at send against every comparison in the rule, and stay simple enough to explain in a sentence — because a certificate of completion is read by somebody working out why a reviewer was skipped.
