Send a PDF from Claude, Cursor or VS Code

Two MCP tools orchestrate the existing tenant-scoped Pactlyra API.

Install Node.js 22 or newer and clone the Pactlyra repository.
Create a free sandbox key with the copy-paste command below. Save the returned key once.
Replace the absolute path and key in the configuration, then save it for your client.
Ask your client to send a local PDF to a signer. In the sandbox, inspect the captured message through the API instead of emailing a person.

Keep the configuration private. It contains the API key. Never commit it or paste it into chat. The local server never prints the key.

Claude

Use the configuration in Claude Desktop’s claude_desktop_config.json, or as a project-root .mcp.json in Claude Code.

Cursor

Save the same configuration at .cursor/mcp.json for a project or ~/.cursor/mcp.json globally.

VS Code

Save the portable configuration as project-root .mcp.json. For .vscode/mcp.json, rename the top-level mcpServers property to servers.

Tools

`send_pdf_for_signature`

Reads one local PDF, uploads it through the shipped API, derives a default signature box from real page geometry, adds one signer and sends the envelope. A sandbox key uses the existing no-message, no-credit rules. A live key uses the workspace’s existing credits and spend limit; the adapter never bypasses them.

`get_signature_status`

Reads the current envelope and recipient status by ID. The API key selects the workspace, and another workspace’s envelope is returned as not found.

Errors you can act on

An error names the failed step and preserves Pactlyra’s stable error, human-readable message and requestId. If a multi-step send leaves a draft, the error also returns the IDs created before the refusal so you can inspect it before retrying.
