Is a typed or drawn signature legally binding?

A typed name or drawn mark can be an electronic signature when a person uses it with intent to sign and it is associated with the record. Whether a particular signature is effective depends on the transaction, applicable law, consent and the evidence around the act; an image alone proves very little.
